SC Judgment in NAB Amendments Intra Court Appeals.

This is Supreme Court’s judgement dated 6th September, 2024, in Intra Court Appeals against top court’s earlier judgement of 15 September 2023, wherein a three member bench headed by the then Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial had declared the amendments in NAB Ordinance illegal by a majority of two to one.

The intra court appeals were heard by five member bench led by CJP Qazi Faez Isa. Other members of the bench were Justice Amin-ud-Din Khan, Justice Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi.

The official title of the case is “Islamic Republic of Pakistan through Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt. of Pakistan, Islamabad v. Imran Ahmad Khan Niazi and another” and author judge is Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The recent judgement has restored the NAB amendments by majority of 5-0.
